Mulpha’s Smart City Activations Manager, Kate Bradfield, joined Hills Shire Mayor Michelle Byrne and a number of other local residents and businesses for a night of sleeping rough in Bella Vista Farm Park at the Hills Winter Sleep Out last month.
Executive General Manager of Mulpha Norwest, Mr Tim Spencer acknowledged, that like all communities, Norwest is not immune to homelessness arising from domestic violence, mental illness and financial hardship.
“Our vision for a Smart City is an all-inclusive community that recognises the challenges we face and actively tries to address them for future generations,” Tim said.
The event is held annually to raise awareness of homelessness and the factors such as DV (domestic violence), financial hardship or a mental illness that can lead to homelessness in the Hills.
This year the Sleep Out aimed to raise vital funds for local charity Hills Community Aid. Kate raised over $2000.
